Tracking at zoom ≥16. Each visited cell is a real geographic area — it shrinks correctly as you zoom out, but stays bright so you can spot it anywhere on the globe.

GAZE/MAP
Heatmap Explorer — User Guide
What is this?
GAZE/MAP tracks where you browse on a satellite map and builds a personal heatmap of your exploration. The more you look at a place — and the closer you zoom in — the hotter it gets. Red means you've studied it closely. Green means you've glanced at the edges.
How to use
1
Navigate the map — pan and zoom freely using your mouse or trackpad. The satellite view shows real-world imagery.
2
Zoom in to zoom 16 or higher — tracking only activates at street level, where buildings and roads are visible. The status indicator in the header turns green when active.
3
Browse freely — every area you look at gets logged. Pan around a city, zoom into streets, explore neighbourhoods. The heatmap builds automatically.
4
Zoom out to review — pull back to see your full exploration pattern. Visited areas remain visible as coloured blobs at any zoom level.
5
Search locations — use the search box in the top-right corner to fly to any city, street, or landmark instantly.
6
Adjust the heatmap — use the sidebar controls to change opacity and spread. Spread controls how far each visited cell bleeds outward.
